My video was
shot for eye level, as a spectator, and was in normal upright orientation. After watching the other videos in my class I
came to notice that I didn’t think to change the direction of my camera. To record the video sideways could have
created a more abstract image. Overall I
believed that I learned a significant amount about video art through this one
project. I may explore more with the idea
of a 60-second shot and generate a small portfolio with several different experimental
videos.
I found some
inspiration through what my classmates showed in their videos. There are several ideas I have going through
my mind that I’ll try to combine with everything I learned from this project. I can't wait to see what I can come up with for my own entertainment!!
Yea, narrowing down what the subject could be for a 60 second video was tough for me too. I think that you picked and interesting subject for the project. It was the one video (from what I remember) that wasn't shot in a tighter-type angle which was cool.
ReplyDeleteThe subject was a difficult task. When in class, seeing all of the choices others made, I felt like I could have done something very different that I wish I would have thought of. On the same note though, I was nice to have the variety for discussion.
ReplyDeleteI have also been inspired to create a series of short videos after working on this process. The subject matter of an unrestricted but time limited project can be a difficult task. I enjoyed the orientation of your video and the hand held aspect. I felt that it gave a better sense of personability.
ReplyDeleteFiguring out what I was to do with my 60 seconds was a strange progression for me. I spent around a week tossing about ideas to just throw them all out 48 hours before class and go for something I had never thought of before. Surprisingly most of the ‘’aesthetic choices” of mine was simple hardware limitations. We live and learn, some innovations threw accident, and some threw others. We all took away something new form everyone’s videos.
